For this project I designed a sidetable, related to my person and my personal interests. Who am I? What am I doing in my spare time and where do I stand for? During my research and process there were a couple of regular returning subjects like 'family' and 'grow'. As a start I took our family tree. That family tree contains both subjects 'family' and 'grow'. A Family Tree that continues growing, and where the possibility for growth is always there...: how to translate 'grow' into a fixed piece of furniture?

Product - My side table consists out of different rectangular blocks. Every block represents a member of my family, made out of massive wood whereof those wood properties match the properties of that particular person. At every side of every block is through a special designed connection element the possibility for extension shown. The blocks with their always visible connection elements are symbolising my family tree which continues to expand in any way whatsoever.
