For a residential with sheltered housing focussed on babyboomers , I had to make an interior design for a joint space. A space applied to the needs and lifestyles of those people.

Target

Babyboomers is the name of a group of people born after worldwar 2. In the period between 1946 and 1955 the group counted about 2,4 million people. The current babyboomers are relatively prosperous. On top of their career they have got relatively high incomes and big capabilities.

Their biggest lifepurpose is being active, up to date and socially involved even after retiring. That's why they  try to share their knowledge with friends and families, but also with younger generations. I've used my design concept 'Sharing Energy' to create a space where babyboomers can meet with each other and where they can inspire and motivate each other: 'The Spatial inspiration source'

Concept

Location - groundfloor

Design. First I figured out what kind of energy and experience I was looking for. The inspiration which  I used for my design I found in  nature landscapes and architecture. In the architecture I found the same basic principles as I saw in the landscapes.

Through sketching and scale modeling I have tried to create a storytelling design with the moving-process of nature to architecture in it. One hand I have used the nature-like unstructured lines but at the other hand you find the abstract lines of architecture. Different layers and a specific colour- and material pallet are used to strengthen the concept in my design.
